Southwest Louisiana family home needed a full gut
SERVPRO of Glenview's team members traveled to Lake Charles, LA, following the destruction of Category 4 Hurricane Laura.
These are photos of the living room area of a family whose entire home was gutted down to wall & ceiling studs and the cement slab foundation.
Blown-in insulation absorbed a great deal of rainwater and collapsed the ceiling, destroying every room in their home and leaving a mess of enormous proportions.
You can see in the "before" photo that the ceiling collapsed, coming down in large sections. The weight of the wet insulation caused the drywall to just give way. The furniture and contents of the home had secondary damage, meaning they were not directly wet by the rains but were subsequently wet and damaged by the wet ceiling and insulation.
